Our Staff

In order to make disciples, we must first be disciples, because children learn more from our actions than from our words. As our teachers are effectively a “living curriculum”, we take great care to appoint excellent, qualified teachers who love the Lord, the children and the subjects that they teach.

Ian Smith

Principal

Ian has served the Lord at JWCS since 2004, first as a class teacher, then as sports administrator and deputy principal.  He was appointed Principal in 2010.  He is passionate about Christian education and the need to integrate biblical truth into every aspect of school life. 

Lee Anne Shotter

Lee Anne Shotter

Grade 1

Lee Anne brings energy, sensitivity and quiet strength into the classroom. She is a teacher, a dancer and Head of the Foundation Phase.

Gina Smith

Grade 2

Gina has ten years' experience as a teacher and another ten as a full time Mom to three daughters, all at JWCS.

Eileen Frederickson

Grade 3

Eileen's teaching skills are enhanced by her Fine Arts training. Her gifts benefit all the children in the co-curricular program.

Pippa Versveld

Grade 4 and 5

Pippa has taught the Grade 5's at JWCS since 2008. She is an inspiring and thorough teacher, much loved by children and staff.

Tracey Zyster

Grade 6

Tracey has been teaching at JWCS for 14 years! Her cheerful spirit, determination, loyalty and years of experience are a blessing to us all.

Margi Espin

Grade 7

Margi first joined us in 1993, before marriage and kids. Her commitment to the school and faith in the God who sustains us is boundless.

Tamzyn Fabing

Volunteer

Tanzyn gave us a 'year of her life' in 2011 as a teaching assistant and librarian. In 2012 she returns to UCT to train as a teacher.
